The 'Ferrari Reframe'

Does your brain sometimes feel like an out of control sports car? Somedays it's like you're stuck in first gear, wheels hopelessly spinning in the mud?

That's exactly when you need a "Ferrari Reframe" - it's like a quick tune-up but for your mind.

The "Ferrari Reframe" works wonders for shifting your mental gears, transforming those pesky negative thoughts and self-deprecating stories into something far more positive and uplifting.

I have found the 'reframe' works best for myself and clients when we are experiencing the following challenges -

  1. You find yourself caught in a relentless loop of negative thinking

  2. You're grappling with self esteem, self worth

  3. Emotional stress seems to be your constant companion

  4. You need a different way to address a communication block, both in speaking and listening

  5. You need a bit of a boost, something to help you recover quickly from life's knocks

And generally this technique will take a few visits to perfect. We start with deep diving into the issue to get a better understanding of it, then work through the process quite intensely so you really embed the understanding of the issue and reframe process. Then it's plenty of practice, during a session we might do a few examples to get you really comfortable with the concept, then leave it with you as homework until the next session (plus journalling what you notice).

Most clients find that by the second session their awareness of the process is up and find it easier to engage when required, but the third session the reframed thinking is becoming the more natural or 'normal' thinking. This is what we are looking for! a total reframe to get you from being stuck in first gear and back to zooming along the highway.

For everyone playing along at home, here's a quick intro to the "Ferrari Reframe", it's a simple 5-step process:

1. Identify Your Current Mindset (Recognise the Gear): This step involves introspection. Assess your thought patterns. Are they leaning towards the negative? Pinpoint those beliefs that are acting as roadblocks.

2. Challenge Your Thinking (Check the Engine): Just like inspecting a car's engine, examine your thoughts closely. Are they rational? Do they contribute to your growth? Scrutinise them to see if they withstand your analysis.

3. Reframe Your Narrative (Reconfigure the GPS): It's time to reset your mental GPS. Morph those negative beliefs into positive affirmations. e.g: swap "I always fail" with "Every experience is a valuable lesson."

4. Develop Coping Strategies (Prepare for the Race): Like preparing for a race, create strategies to tackle life's hurdles. This could range from mindfulness exercises to building a support network.

5. Implement and Practice (Hit the Accelerator): Now, you're ready to shift gears. Apply these positive beliefs and coping strategies in your daily life. Regular practice is key, just like learning to handle a fast car.

Speaking of reframing, I was struggling with a clever conclusion for this article, so asked for a bit of AI help. It's definitely reframed from my original, and I'm loving the cheesy take on the whole Ferrari thing - love it or hate it? let me know in the comments

Conclusion:

The "Ferrari Reframe" equips you to navigate life's winding roads with more confidence and speed. You're in the driver's seat, and with this approach, you're better prepared to reach your destinations, relishing the journey as much as the destination.
